Music video premiere – starring me and my Etch a Sketch

Yes, I have spend a lot of time etching and sketching as a child. And apparently it’s just like learning to ride a bike, because before we shot the video, I didn’t touch my Etch a Sketch for almost 2 years. I have no idea how my brain works it out, but if I have an image in front of me, its fairly easy for me to draw it. Enjoy!

This track ’42 Inches’ will be featured on the EP ‘We Are Not Amused’ to be released MAY 30th.

Idea and etching by yours truly. Direction, filming and editing by the brilliant Jonas Krüger.

Check out the previous behind the scenes post from the shoot the video.

Artworking 9 to 5

The tracks are done and now it’s all about the wrapping. To me the process of creating the right artwork is just as important and almost equally fun as the music making. And a lot of work and a lot of meetings!

Marie Louise Munkegaard shot the session 1 pictures last week in her studio and the session 2 outdoor pictures this week on a grey and rainy Tuesday. But according to Marie Louise the cloudy weather makes your skin looks great, so all I can say is hallelujah. Everything will be transformed into cover art and booklet by my brilliant friend, designer and artist Morten Knudsen.

Who’s that girl?

My old riding boots and shiny boots of patent leather.

Yes, the drum felt slightly heavy after 3 hours in odd positions.

Carefully selected accessories.

Marie Louise digging in to the marvelous food from Pam’s Lovely Mealbox.

The snack of champions.

The first finished image by Marie Louise Munkegaard. We will be using 2 more studio shots and 5-6 outdoor shots for the artwork…. Can’t wait to see what Morten comes up with.

Be good to your ears and to the world

I will put a stack of exclusive download codes for the new song HOTEL TERMINUS for sale at the concert at Huset Magstræde tomorrow. The money will go directly to Danish – Indian Childcare (Dansk – Indisk Børnehjælp) that I voluneteer in and help finance trees like mango, fig and almond for the fields around the orphanage we support in Arni, in order to make this children’s home self-sufficient.

Danish – Indian Childcare works to create awareness, education and implement sustainable development projects with the main focus on women and girl children. We believe that each individual possess resources and capacity and that it is possible to make positive changes.

This little parade of cards will contain the download codes for HOTEL TERMINUS that will also be on the EP soon to be released together with UNITED WE STAND APART and 42 INCHES.

Black eyeliner mixed with olive oil turned out to be great paint. Love MAC’s naming. Pretty damn close to backtracks!

Don’t forget to visit the Dansk – Indisk Børnehjælp’s secondhand shop in Ahornsgade 20 CPH N, where I also happen to buy 2/3 of my clothes for my schizophrenic 80’s/90’s granny rock n’ roll style.

See you tomorrow. We’re on at 23:00 after Boho Dancer and Tara.

Back to Smelly

The rehearsing for the gig April 13th at Huset Magstræde is on. The location is Smelly in the north west corner of Copenhagen – the infamous basement  that leaves an equally  infamous smell to your clothes and your hair. Mmmmm… dead guinea pig with a touch of blue cheese and very old playing cards.

It’s a trainers park at Smelly. I’m sporting my Nike, Kristian is in Vans and Korff in Converse.

Turn up the click track for Mr. Korff.

Kristian is either: 1. buying in more guitars on ebay or 2. fixing back tracks.

The cool cats advisory board

Before going to New York I made the decision not to focus on what to do with the songs, but instead be completely present in the creative process of the production. So guess what is haunting me now…

Maybe you should finish more songs and put out an EP?

Maybe you should release these songs as singles?

Fuck it all and go to bed.

Inflight entertainment

Copenhagen bound with two amazing tracks… There is still a little mixing-tweaking to be done and then mastering. I’m so happy, so tired, so happy and so happy. Did I mention that I am really, really happy? Can’t believe how much creativity and love you can fit into that city. Wow.
